The Music for the Moment concerts offer people living with dementia a relaxed alternative to the often pressured and unsympathetic concert atmosphere, and performance opportunities for Royal Academy of Music students wanting to learn about working with people with dementia.
It is a fruitful multi-partnership alliance: the Academy supply and prep the performers and front of house staff and make a flier and the programme, St Marylebone Parish Church host, make cakes and attend, pupils from Marylebone Girls’ School make the tea and chat to the concert goers, Resonate Arts advertises/ recruits the audience and supports them to attend, helps to prepare the students and runs Dementia Friends sessions for the schoolgirls involved. Resonate Arts also offers other concert opportunities in the other boroughs for those who can’t make it to the Westminster concerts. Approximately every fourth concert is hosted by Wigmore Hall. |
