October 2021
So far this month we have enjoyed our Silver Sunday event at the Wallace Collection in partnership with Wigmore Hall. We were led on a very interesting tour by artist Marie-Therese and marvelled at the Great Gallery before having a go at drawing and playing instruments later in the afternoon.
We also look forward to our new Music for Thought sessions starting at Wigmore Hall, in which we will listen to performances, create music and sound together and perhaps have a dance!
In September we were delighted to return 'in person' for our weekly Singing with Friends choir and enjoyed a good catch up and singing together as a group.
August 2021
In August we had a lovely session exploring music and sound, led by Aleisha, Claire and Jen. We played instruments including chimes, gongs and sound bowls to create a beautiful soundscape.
We have recently visited the Victoria and Albert Museum on two occasions, exploring their Japanese and Cast Courts exhibits with their wonderful tour guides. Separately, the Handel Hendrix Museum treated us to a tour of their fascinating building and a lovely performance by Harpsichordist Nathaniel!

June 2021
Whilst most of us continue to ease out of lockdown restrictions, we have continued connecting with people digitally, via phone and by post. We have completed our digital music project at Princess Louise Kensington Care Home, with the wonderful singer Maciek and clarinettist Melissa, enjoying lovely conversation and singing.
As part of our Explore the Gilbert Collection project in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum we have visited doorsteps, sent brochures and letters in the post and enjoyed several phone based conversations, with artist Zoe Gilmour.
We have begun our summer series of online music sessions, with Music for Thought taking place across June and and our Opera for Thought sessions starting in July.

March 2021
We have enjoyed starting new projects this year, beginning with our 6 week Music for Thought project with musicians from Wigmore Hall and the Royal Academy of Music. We invited participants to join us in exploring the theme of windows, and together we created and improvised music, shared stories and swapped pictures of the views outside our homes.
In March, poet Di Sherlock has been busy calling people at home, listening to their stories and turning them into poems! Participants have a few conversations with Di and then receive a final copy of their poem in the post. We have also started our Remembering Together project online, connecting with people living with dementia and their loved ones, using art and reminiscence to explore shared memories.
As we approach spring and start coming out of lockdown, we are planning more projects over the phone, online and in person. We soon hope to be meeting with people in their own homes and in the wider community and shall keep you updated as our plans develop!
We are seeking new Trustees to join our board!

The board of Trustees is looking for experienced and enthusiastic new recruits who are keen to help this charity grow and thrive.
